Cat gone bad

My cat appears to be bad... this happened 2 weeks after the cam installed. Has anyone had this problem after a cam install??

I don't have a big cam just the comp 305, I just think is weird that the cat went out after a few runs?? is this typical or is it not related at all ???

how many miles on it.

could have been near its end before the cam, and the added emissions just accelerated it.

Yep, pull it off, shove a broom stick through it, and be done with it.

Re: Cat gone bad

I didn't know it was such a big deal to gut the cat in Cal, I went to few muffler shops around my area to see if the would do it and how much...

The two guys I talked to goto offended and went off talking aboub the 3 or 5k fine that they would get and that I could get my car impounded for a month if I get caught.

complicated people I tell you !!!

What are the symptoms that make you think its "bad"? High emissions? No power, like its plugged up???????

Well I kept hearing like bouncing metal coming from under the car, passenger side. I would only hear it at a red light or when park at idle. once I'd step on the gas I wouldn't hear it,
so I got under the car when the cat was cold of course and smack the cat a few times with the side of my hand and you could clearly hear something inthere bouncing around.

anyways I'm 2 hours away from the border or tj, so I went accross and had it gut for 20 bucks. And the noise is no more !!! that makes me happy !!!

There's reason for the shops to be worried. In my state a shop can get a $10,000 fine for gutting a cat or anything of the sort.
