Casper Electronics VPlus Volt Boosters

link to the Jegs add

"The VPlus is designed to ''plug-and-play'' into your GM vehicle and provide around 2 extra volts to the electrical system at wide-open-throttle. This gives your engine more power for a hotter, more efficient spark in your ignition system. It also keeps the fuel pump at its peak performance level to maintain proper fuel pressure and volume. "

just wondering if anyone has any comments on this. seems logical, specially for engines with higher demands due to H/C or blown.

not even sure how it really works.

or is it just a BS mod like the TPS voltage booster that tricks the ECM into thinking it's at WOT earlier.

It probably modifys the feedback io the altenator, telling it to put out more voltage.

Re: Casper Electronics VPlus Volt Boosters

Sounds like a really bad hack, especially for street car...

Re: Casper Electronics VPlus Volt Boosters

Its not an unusual way to increase fuel pump capacity.... I think the Kenne Bell Boost-a-Pump works essentially the same way. The increased voltage will also speed up your injectors, but this is already accounted for in the offset tables. As far as ignition, it should boost the output voltage of the coil proportional to the input voltage, as long as it isn't so high that the coil breaks down.

When running at higher voltage, everything is running hotter and stressed more, including the fuel pump, injectors and coil.

I know on one 1,350HP setup I'm familiar with, the entire electrical system including the battery was 16V.

I'm sure they work like advertised, but whether or not they are needed is another story.

It basicially ups the reference voltage from the battery once the TPS passes a certain level.

It's a moderate increase (to about 16 or 17v I believe), and would help with upping the max coil voltage available... as well as the voltage sent to the fuel pump.

While the increased voltage to the pump and injectors might be useful, I'm still undecided as to the effect this upped voltage would have on the coil and high-voltage going through the opti.

Yes, at WOT and large-gapped or boosted application can have issues with lighting up, and as a result we ususally make the gap smaller to accomodate... but this tool would allow you to run larger gaps (expose the kernal more) and should help.... but that higher voltage has to travel through the opti so I'm not sure it's a great idea.

With an LTCC or Del this would be great... but with stock Opti's I dunno...

Will it work with Racetronix fuel pumps?
