Car Jerking - Throwing Mass Air Flow Sensor Code
Car Jerking - Throwing Mass Air Flow Sensor Code
I have a 2002 3.8L V6. It runs great right after startup, but after about 5 or 10 minutes, it sporadically jerks. The SES light is on and I took it into a shop and they said it was the Mass Air Flow Sensor code.
My air filter was very dirty and they looked at the MAF Sensor and it was dirty too. They took the MAF Sensor out, sprayed MAF Sensor cleaner on it and put it back in. They reset the code. I picked up a new air filter and put it in and a few miles later the SES light came back on. I went back to shop and the reset the code again.
It's 2 days later now and the SES light came back on and the car did a little jerking today. Could the MAF Sensor be damaged so that cleaning it didn't fix it? Should I change the MAF Sensor at this point?
