Can't put door back together.
Can't put door back together.
I took my door apart and i am having a lot of trouble putting the drivers side back together. all goes well til i got to the part that has the window and lock buttons. The electronic thing. The wires push **t ward pressure on it so it doesnt want to go into place. Then, from trying repeatedly, I broke one of the clips that holds it in place. The other clip came out and i dont know how to put it back in without breaking it as well. Anyone got any ideas how i can get this thing back in?

Re: Can't put door back together.
ive done this a few times so ill try to help out. Youve got those two metal pieces/clips right? Those just slide into the plastic holders on each side of the assembly. You might have to bend the metal to make it stick better, then push those wires way down. On mine those metal pieces just took a little tweaking with some pliers to make them work a little better. If you broke the plastic piece that these slide into, not sure what to do, id say glue but im sure it wouldn't hold long at all.
Just look at the passenger side one if youre confused.

Broke the clips on mine. Wound up paining two screws black and putting them at the top and bottom of the plastic piece. If you use flat heads and kind of countersink them they won't look bad at all. I knew as soon as I took that out I was going to break the plastic trying to put it back in.

You will probably have to mash the wires up into the door to get it all back in. It's a pain. I broke one or maybe both of my clip 'holders' and have mine super glued. Holding good for over a year now and looks nice, no gap like with the clips. Sortof redneck, but hey that's me...

I epoxied the clips onto the plastic. I don't know how well it will hold but it seems storng, i mashed the wires in and it came out pretty good, thanks guys.
