Camaro takes a few cranks before it starts up

Would it just be cause the starter is going bad or something?

Fuel pump. Mine did the same thing and since I swapped the stock pump out for a Racetronix dual intank pump, she fires right up.

This has happened to me a couple of times and both times it was fuel pressure related. Once it was the check valve in the fuel pump and once it was the fuel pressure regulator itself. Pull the vacuum line off the intake manifold (the one that runs to the FPR) and see if there is fuel in there first thing in the morning. If so, FPR.

If there is a puff of black smoke when the car first starts after sitting a whilem this is also an indication that the diaphram in the FPR has gone bad causing fuel to run into the intake manifold resulting in a rich condition at startup.

My bet is either the FPR or the fuel pump. Check with a pressure guage to see if it is one of these and use the test described above to help determine which one it is. If the prssure is low and you can't tell which part is the cause, you will need to isolate the parts of the system using a fuel pressure test kit.
