Camaro doesnt start/stay running

I have a 96' Camaro Z28 and have been having a problem with it, I'm having a crank, no start condition, its getting fuel, and spark. I've replaced the opti, wires, plugs, ICM, coil, and the problem is still there. This started about a month ago, it happened outvonpf nowhere, it was fine one day, then the next I pulled out of my driveway and it shut off and that's the last its ran. I need help...

Its weird, most of the time it will crank and catch for a half second and sound terrible... And shuts right off... Please help me out

Re: Camaro doesnt start/stay running

I was thinking about timing, would a timing issue come overnight?
The only code that came up was a high resolution failure, (PO372)

That's a problem with the optical cam position sensor in the Opti. But it shouldn't prevent the engine from starting. Did you also have that code before you replaced the Opti?

How did you verify fuel and spark?

Re: Camaro doesnt start/stay running

The code first can up after I changed the opti, could i have bought a bad optispark unit?

The car primes, cranks, and catches for a second, sometime up to 10 seconds but sounds terrible and struggles to keep sputtering @injuneer

What brand Opti? Did you loc-tite the rotor screws before installing? Are you sure you indexed the cam dowel pin correctly in the back of the Opti?

It was actually one off eBay, but the reviews were all great from the 300 and some that bought it, didn't open it up, it came fully assembled. I'm pretty sure I did everything properly, went through it twice.

Re: Camaro doesnt start/stay running

ebay Chinese ripoffs are a real crap shoot.

Still didn't answer this question:

How did you verify fuel and spark?
