Re: Camaro Cop Target?

Ok, I gotta put my .02 in on this one. If theres 2 vehicles speeding down the road at exactly the same speed, one of em being an Fbody, ESPECIALLY an "arrest me red" one, and the other a pickup truck lets say, the Fbody gets the ticket EVERY time. My wife got pulled and written out of a LINE OF TRAFFIC once in a red one we had. I think that one may have had something to do with the fact that she aint too hard on the eyes if ya know what I mean. Another time I was cruising along at 80 or so in the SS on a divided HWY and with other cars around going the same speed and mr trooper comes flying across the median grass to run me down and write me up. He was an absolute DICK too about it. I had a radar detector on the dash and the first thing out of his mouth was "you might as well throw that damned thing in the trash" to which I replied "thats a fact, it never even made a beep on you!"
My youngest son is on his 3rd 4th gen now and he will be the first to tell you the same thing I am. Hes got a pickup too and he can drive it as fast as he wants and never get a look, but not in a red Z! His part time GF has a 2000 base 6 cyl camaro and she got pulled the other night "to check her window tint". IMHO its kinda like ***** envy with a lot of people who wear a badge. They cant stand the fact that if we so choose, we could smoke their ****.
All of this is coming from a 41 yr old man, so take it for what its worth!

Re: Camaro Cop Target?

Cops have made up reasons to pull me over before. When i had my '65 C10 (pretty stock, original 292ci straight six, just had lowering springs. never restored, but in pretty good condition), i stopped at a stop sign and drive off one time. This cop that was about a half mile back catches up to me a few corners later and pulls me over. Says he didn't think my brake lights are working. I show him they're fine and barely gives a cursory glance at my license (and never asked for my reg or ins). He then proceeds to chat me up about my truck. :lol Now, the guy was cool and all, but i seriously think he made up some **** to stop me so he could check out my truck.

I couldn't make up my mind if i should be mad that i got pulled over for no f'n reason or if i should just take it as a compliment to my truck that he'd want to stop me to check it out.

Re: Camaro Cop Target?

like most peolpe have said in here, if you do get pulled over... roll down the windows, turn the vehicle off and hands out the window or on the wheel i'v been pulled over 4 times in the past week or so for headlight problems with my elantra (driver burnt out fixed it now the pass is out?? rofl) all verbal warnings... same with the other 3 times iv been pulled over.. swerving, turn to fast, and i forget the other but i havnt got a ticket to date...

be nice or outrun them with alittle spirited driving if u noitce they are following has always worked in the country for me..

there's a lot of good cops out there. but i can understand the grumpy ones. after all, i would be too if i had to deal with punk kids smokin pot, ghetto people shootin each other, and the fact that they don't make much money being a cop.

+1 but heres an interesting fact for you, in my home town the police have white camaros unmarked that they use only for special chases. Gotta say something for camaro if the cops use them huh?

Re: Camaro Cop Target?

If you don't drive like an *** there won't be a problem. I have a bright RED Camaro and I have only been pulled over once in it and that was for my taillight backouts, I think the only reason he pulled me over was because I pissed him off. It was early in the morning and the hatch was fogged up and I couldn't see it was a cop (he wasn't in a white car either) and he pissed me off by tailgating me all the way through a construction zone that I slowed down for and when I got through the construction zone I got on it back to the speed limit to get him off my *** and then got to a red light and then I floored it when it turned green and hopped over in the right lane to make a right turn at the next intersection and I flew threw that intersection (I had a green light) and he followed and hit his lights. Now I didn't speed once, so I guess he just pulled me over for the only thing he could.

When I was 16 and got my first Camaro, I got pulled over alot because I drove like a douche. Im still pretty young (21) and drive a flashy, red, loud car. I only get pulled over if I deserve it. In my 5 years of driving, Ive never been pulled over just because I'm young and driving a sporty car.
Exactly.

But I was minding my own buisness the other day, I was pulled over for 'not wearing my seatbelt" which is .....truthfully.....BS.... (I was wearing it...this was on base BTW)... But from where they were they were in no position to make that call.

Goes to shaw that they will pull you over, just don't drive like an idiot. Don't tewll me that you won't because, I was that age once and I had a LEAD foot!..

Someone told me once... IF you drive like an ****, PPL w/ not respect you. If you drive respectively, it gives PPL time to admire your car... -Think about it.

Pluss, you bieng young, you will 1... Wreck your first car, and 2 the insurance will be insane! ...get a v6 and let that keep a leash on your lead foot. Or get a beater and have fun w/ it... *ahem* VW Golf... (see link in sig...)
