A/C question

Hello. I have a 95 Z and my A/C blows warm air with a touch of cool mixed in. I was told I needed a new LOW pressure switch or possible clean the one I have. Any of these worth while or is this another issue with the system? Thanks

to vague to really tell. having a bad low pressure switch WILL cut out the compressor causing warm spells, yes, but also having a leak or low charge will cause short cycling and the same symptoms. there is no point in trying to clean an a/c sensor, as the only thing the sensor touches is oil and refrigerant. when they go bad you just replace them. Before you go buy anything, just make PLENTY sure you dont have a leak and that you have a full charge. once you install that sensor, you cant take it back.

Doesn't appear to be any leaks. Will quick changing out the switch cause anything to leak or evaporate from the low pressure side.

I prefer to do this by myself as this time of year, AC specialists morph into bandits and robbers around here.

not me, i'm a nice a/c specialist. the pressure switches are screwed onto a nipple with a schreader fitting on them. just unscrew it, but make sure the car is off.

I tried using the quick charge kit from walmart - the one that comes with moisture remover/leak sealer/oil. Worked great. Very easy.
