Blowing HVAC fuses when ac is turned on?!?!
Blowing HVAC fuses when ac is turned on?!?!
tested the blower and it worked fine when i put a 12v power source to it. then checked the fuses (like i should have done 1st). Fuse was blown to the HVAC system. replaced started the car turned on the ac and it worked fine for 2 minutes. turned off the car restarted it and the fuse went. just now i replaced the fuse and it blew immediatly.
where do i go from here? its hot in texas and ac would be better than rolling down my window!!!
BTW i deleted the other thread after finding this out

A fuse will blow for two reasons. Either you have a short between the + and - wires or between the + and ground(chassis), or you have corrosion at one or more connectors causing high amperage draw. Start by isolating components, work from the farthest away back to the fuse.
found it i had a short in the wiring. the green (+) going to the compressor had rubbed a clamp on a radiator hose where it splits from the main wire loom. guess that vibration from that choppy cam doesn't help.
thanks for the help.
