big problem with big engine(F.I. 496)
Alright I'm used to screwin up but I got myself A good one this time. My bro and I had some money put back to by a big block for our next project, and we found a 496 big block out of an 01 up chevy. We bought it and then decided to figure out if it would work. Well from what I've heard the new 496 don't really interchanage with any older bbc parts. My main question is should I try to retrofit and make it carbuerated or sell it and get the 396 I originally wanted? It is a complete motor intake to pan, no harness fuel injection ect. I want to make it work cause its a cool idea(I think) but if it won't work I guess I'll try to sell or trade it for what I want. If anyone knows if its possible could you let me know? Someone told me I could fill the old head bolt holes and re drill new ones, and put older style bbc heads on but I think they also said there is no provision for the distibutor. I'm lost can someone help?
Thanks
Josh
P.S. sorry bout the long post.
