Best way to remove the front sway bar (searched)

Before everyone goes crazy I have searched and I keep hearing recommendations to do it and questions about how it will ride.

My questions are, would it be best to do it with the car on jack stands or on a ramp? I currently have the car up, supported by the wheels, and thought since it was up I would remove the sway bar. The book says to do it with the car supported by jack stands. Would it be possible to do it the way I have the car now or would I need to put it on jack stands? Would it be any more difficulty to do it this way? Also to save time should I just cut through the end link since they will more then likely break anyway?

It doesn't matter how the car is supported. As long as the car is level (side to side), there are no loads of any kind on the sway bar. It just sits there, hanging "loose" until the body starts to roll due to cornering loads. Take the nuts off the end links - yes they usually break, take the brackets off the subframes.

Fred,
Thanks that is just what I wanted to hear! I still have the car up from putting the trans in and I didn't want to have to bring it down and then put it back up again to support it another way. I will be putting the tans cooler in this weekend and will probably do it while under there, thanks again!
