Battery relocation questions...

I was thinking about moving my battery to the back of the car, with a rack to hold it that I saw on a website. I wanted to know am I going to have to buy a wire (if so, what gauge?) that runs from the front to the back, and what kind of battery do I need, a dry cell battery? Does it have to go on the side with the spare tire in it?

Check out this link from Thunderracing.com, http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=4&pcid=105, they sell a hassle free kit that may be what you are looking for.

Re: Battery relocation questions...

As noted above, since the battery will be inside the passenger compartment, you need an NHRA-approved sealed and vented battery box. The box has to be securely fastened to a "frame". And you must install a master shut-off switch accessible from outside the car.

If I wasn't planning to bring it to the track, are there any other rules or laws that I have to do?

Re: Battery relocation questions...

I am looking to relocate my battery as well, but I want it to be sealed and vented. Does anyone out there know of a kit besides Moroso's, I do not want a blue box in my red car.

Re: Battery relocation questions...

lol Me either. I'd rather not have a box at all. Just something that looks like it belongs with as little parts as possible.
