B4C, Police Interceptor/Package - are they the same?

...and were there any performance modifications to the engine on either? What years were they offered?

A link would be fine if it has all this info. I know a bit about the B4C but just haven't heard it called an interceptor package or police package.

Thanks.

do a search on it. a lot of people here are going to slam you on this one. b4c is basically a stripped down z28. no uniform performance mods, although some cops have told me they have ordered some patrol cars not camaro tho, with upgraded engines and superchargers. not typical tho.

Re: B4C, Police Interceptor/Package - are they the same?

I see. Apparently no package was ever offered that did anything for engine performance, except the SS of course, and there was never an interceptor package as people just get confused from all the fords that used to run around.

So when someone says they've got a police package camaro that's faster than joe schmoe's camaro, i guess they're ignorant or love to tell a lie.

As far as I know, the "Police Interceptor" was/is a label for Crown Vic's.

B4C is the "Special Service Package". On a 4th gen, it is basically a Z28 without badges.

Thanks.

So no engine upgrades ever, that we know of, for service cars of the 4th Gen era.

its always been a misconception that police cars had an "interceptor" package that could cause a/an (fill in the car) to catch a super fast streetrod or something.

in the lounge do a search for police cars, recent threads show some unique and worked up police chasers.

The misconception is exacerbated by stupid people on tv. Like the officer on COPS that said the police Camaros come with a special chip that only law enforcement gets and it has 350 HP. Pullllleeeezzz!

Is there something our cars cannot "intercept"?

Thanks for the links Andy. One of them I actually found yesterday, the other I'm enjoying right now. I think this topic will always be a hoot no matter how many times we beat on it...
