ATI damper "stuck" to crankshaft end

Please send suggestions for pulling the ATI damper from the crankshaft. It just does not want to come out. I am thinking of removing the ATI damper from the ATI hub and then carefully heat up the hub while I pull the hub. I don't want to damage the crankshaft.

Are you using a crank hub/balancer puller?

Yes, I purchased one similar to the ATI puller/installer.

And the center bolt is pressing on the nose of the crank, and nothing is catching on the center of the hub? I have an ATI, but it was put together almost 20 years ago and I cannot remember the details.

If you have to apply heat. be “gentle” and try to apply it evenly around the full circumference of the hub. Start slowly and keep trying as it heats up, so it doesn’t get real hot.

Re: ATI damper "stuck" to crankshaft end

The puller/installer had a stud that bolts into the crank snout, and a larger bolt, that holds the puller/installer wheel, threads onto the stud. The wheel has 4 slots for bolting to the damper. (Excuse the poor description).
