Aluminum radiators?

Are the replacement direct fit aluminum radiators for the LT1's, like the BeCool for example, really lighter then the stockers? If so, by how much. Anybody have any experience with the aluminum replacements? If so, how much lighter and how much better did they cool you down? Thanks.

The stock radiator is aluminum and very light; I doubt there would be any real weight savings. I replaced my GM unit with an aftermarket (not a brand name like Be Cool) direct replacement and it fit perfectly.

An aftermarket radiator that has more or wider/bigger tubes may wind up weighing more considering the coolant weight.

The aluminum end tanks on the much thicker aftermarket aluminum radiators are going to be a bit heavier than the plastic end caps on the stocker. You don't change the radiator to reduce weight, you change it out for the increased cooling capacity. I never weighed my Griffin, but I'd say its a bit heavier.
