Alarm trouble

I hate the stock alarm on my 1997 Z28. It is way too sensitive! Is there anyway to disable it? What fuse would disable the alarm? Thanks for the help.

Re: Alarm trouble

This alarm goes off almost every time a car goes by that has a little volume. I want to be able to lock my car without the alarm going off. Or can I make it less sensitive?

Re: Alarm trouble

What kind of alarm do you have? My alarm has a big sensor that is a black box on the driverside. It is right inside the dash next to that fuse box. Just take off that panel underneath the steering wheel and see if its there. If it is there should be just a **** on the sensor for sensitivity.
Not sure if that made sense but I hope it helped.

My 97 Z28 has the keyless and the horn beeps when I press it to lock the car. If Im in the car and I set it then manually unlock the door and open it nothing happens. Does my car have an alarm or not?

Nope. If you had an alarm it would have been set off. The beep is just to tell you that all the doors are closed and locked.

Take a look back by your spare tire. You should see a gizmo box back there with an adjustment screw on it. Fiddle with that until you get it set like you like it
