Alarm Issues

The factory alarm in my 01 SS keeps going off for no reason at all. If i arm it, it takes anywhere from 1 minute, to hours before it will go off. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Bad sensor maybe?

Re: Alarm Issues

Play with or unplugged the module on the rear passenger side fender well under your spare tire cover. Mine kept going off so I just unplugged it to see if it would work and it did so I haven't ever plugged it back in to mess with the sensitivity screw.

Re: Alarm Issues

Usually if the shock sensor goes bad the alarm goes off almost immediately after it's armed. Try turning down the sensitivity, if that doesn't work unplug it and see if it stops - if it does that's probably the problem.

Re: Alarm Issues

There should be something like a set screw on the shock sensor in the back that you can use. I've never done it, but I think that on Brent's site there are instructions.

Re: Alarm Issues

The shock sensor is in the spare tire compartment - turn it counterclockwise to decrease sensitivity.

Re: Alarm Issues

Ok turned the sensor all the way down (im guessing its that white turn dial on the side of the sensor). We'll see if it goes off again. Thanks guys.

Re: Alarm Issues

Well looks like that didnt work out. Alarm goes off still. How do I disarm the shock sensor completely?

Re: Alarm Issues

They were saying to unplug it to eliminate it completely.
