Adjusting Steering Rack Bearing Preload

What size socket/wrench is used on the hex nut of the steering rack? I'm trying to get rid of some steering wheel play and I've already replaced my rag joint with the eliminator. I also recently rebuilt the entire front suspension with new ball joints and ES poly bushings.

It's the jam nut that I was looking for the size. I ended up using a large set of channel locks on the jam nut. No improvement in the steering play. It's only about a half inch of play but it annoys me!
