ac/heater

I have a 1994 camaro z28, my ac or heater will not work properly.
Air will blow from the vents, but my heater will not get hot when its cold and my ac will not get cold when its hot outside. Do anyone have any ideal what my problem could be...?

sounds like two promblems, i would start with the heat first since its winter and worry about the a/c in the summer .

first make sure your coolant is full , fell your heater hoses is one hot and one cold ? if so your heater core could be blocked up . check this first , also make sure your thermostat is working propely , what temps are you getting ? we need more input .

Better get a diagram of your system showing the various valves, switches, etc. Then check to see if they are working properly. I realize I am over simplifying, but I haven't had the problem with my F-Body, but have had things like that happen with other cars and trucks.

Go to dealer and have them pull up the diagrams and make copies for you and go from there.

Doesn't sound like problem with cooling system per se, JMHO

Shoebox has info on the HVAC vacuum system on his website. The check valve in the vacuum line from the engine is a common problem. He has a diagram of the system, and photos of the check valve.

I'll move this to "General F-Body Tech....." since it isn't engine-specific.
