ABS delete with line lock
ABS delete with line lock
Ok guys looking at doing this mod on my 94 z28 soon. Just wondering what are your opinions on who makes the best kit, most reliable, best for engine bay clean up, the whole package.
Re: ABS delete with line lock
The "BRAKE" light comes on for three reasons - 1) e-brake is on, 2) pressure differential between front and rear braking circuits. 3) ABS problem. The bulb has 12V supplied. The three devices each supply a ground to turn it on. The differential pressure switch (combination valve) is on the side of the ABS motor pack, between the connections from the front and rear lines from the master cylinder. I believe if you unhook that switch, that eliminates the brake pressure as a cause of the "BRAKE" light going on. Unhook the EBCM as described below to eliminate the ABS from turning it on. That leaves only the E-brake to turn on the "BRAKE" light. I've seen people incorporate the combination valve in the brake system plumbing that replaces the ABS delete, but I don't know the specifics.
The "ABS INOP" is lighted up by a ground from the electronic braking control module (EBCM), behind the driver's kick panel. If you pull the connector off that module, should eliminate the "ABS INOP" light and the "BRAKE" light response due to ABS problems.

Re: ABS delete with line lock
Fred I have unhooked all the above on my 95 Z and even chased circuit 33(tan/white) all the way to the plug that goes into the dash.. I can't find out why my brake light is still on along with the ABS inop light... In plugged the ecbm and I got a code that still says the ecbm turned on the break light?? I'm running out of stuff to check
