99 V6 - any AC bypass info....????

it seems as though bypass pulleys exist for all other 3.8 GM engines- but not for a Camaro at common parts stores......my car decided to break its AC condenser and its bracket....snide Chevy dealer- 'no more brackets made'.......so I had to spend 2 hours in a junkyard pulling a used condenser and bracket.......was annoyed.......anyway- any Camaro specialty shops sell a pulley....?...or must one fabricate a pulley and bracket....?........jim

Re: 99 V6 - any AC bypass info....????

ooops- I had meant the AC COMPRESSOR....not condenser........anyway, am not pleased with the situation.......if the compressor bracket breaks again, there may be no junkyard car around with a similar bracket.......AC delete pulleys are available for earlier Camaros, but not the 3.8.......

Re: 99 V6 - any AC bypass info....????

well- success.............the 2nd bracket did break.......so- I measured the distance with a tape measure.....using the same belt routing, but bypassing the AC comp and AC idler pulley.......belt number 610K6 works fine......had to heat it to stretch it a bit.......and pushed it over the alternator pulley.........tight fit....but so far, so good.......I have no idea why the AC brackets did break......maybe old Chinese pig metal....?.........in any event, the above trick might help someone else......
