96 Roadmaster LT1 put in 95 Camaro

Well i finally switch out my blown LT1 for another LT1 from a Buick Roadmaster. I tried hooking the trans up to engine and the rear of the crank wont allow the spindle from the trans to enter the it. I noticed that the rear of the crank on the Buick is different from the one from the Camaro. The only thing i can think of id that the Buick was an automatic and the Camaro has a T-56. Now, my question is, Is that piece at the end of the crank just press fitted or is it form with the crank?

There should be nothing in the end of the crank with an automatic, but a manual trans car will have a pilot bearing or bushing that can be removed.

If I read it right, then the LT1 from the auto Buick is going in the manual Camaro. Then all you need to do is install a pilot bushing in the crank of the Buick LT1.

Why? Just leave the old one in the Camaro engine and put a brand new one in the Buick engine.

Can you post a picture of the rear of the crank from the Buick?

After doing a little more research, I think all i have to do is press the new bearing into the end of the crankshaft. Hope this is all i have to do. I thought i was going to have replace the whole end peice of the crank.
