Kris - that is not the same story. Only two cars were compared head to head; the Cobra and the SS.

You're fooling yourself if you don't accept this. I know Evan is a great driver, but why is it no one else has ever replicated those times, or MPH for an LT1? BTW: Evan isn't the only one to break 12s with an LS1, so that can't be what you're hinging your argument on.
I'm not fooling myself about anything. I am simply relating word for word, what was written in the article. My point about Evan's driving was that he was the first guy to run in the 12's on the stock tires in a stock LS1 Camaro, and when that happened, plenty of folks were in disbelief. A great driver can really make a difference, although that LT1 SS is admittedly one strong ***** for a stocker. Of that, I'm certainly not arguing.

There is only one explanation, GM sent over a ringer.
You may have a point there. On page 40, Hunkins says:

"Unlike the cammer Ford, there's nothing svelte or subtle about the LT1; it comes on about as tactfully as Andrew Dice Clay at a NOW rally. SLP has upgraded its horsepower output to 305, but our testing bears out a number substantially higher, around 340. SLP would like to keep a lid on this number; backlash from the insurance industry and GM's Corvette group are amongst the strongest reasons for doing so."

So - that also seems to back-up robvas' previous posts also about power output. Thing is, it is not the LT4. Perhaps it was an early SS car that SLP threw a 'super-tune' at?

If you can get ur hands on an LS1, it is your best bet.

also, i have raced an 03 cobra...if they can drive, its not pretty. they were hitting 12's with an exhaust, low 12's high 11's if they changed the pulley on the sc.
