95 z28 sbc 400 engine componet matching

hello gentlemen,

I am John 40 years old new to the website not new to hotrodding but i have limitations on the sbc 400 stuff.

here is the deal..I was given a 95 z28 ( at least its badged that way) no paperwork it was a drag car project.

it has a SBC 400 with a 3.75 crank (eagle)
6 inch forged rods
J&E 4.140 bore/.150 dome/and a 1.098 compression height (according to machine shop that I had check them) I had no paperwork on pistons only crank and rods were in the box with paperwork..I dont have heads or a cam

Im not sure what chamber size I will need on heads to do the bottom end justice ,I also have no clue what kind of power this lower end can take or will make with certain heads..Im just looking for some direction. I think this is a 404 even though I was told 406 kit.

i have never run a 6inch rod motor or a 400 for that matter..I know all this stuff was free but i dont want to junk it by guessing, I d rather get some opinions on what best to do as far as heads and cam...no idea what kind of compression or anything with that big of a dome.. I cant figure out the calculator it tells me weird stuff.

I ran a similar engine in a race jeep for the mud, except mine had 5.7 I beam rods and I also had an Eagle crank but mine was bored to 4.155 and I had Dart Iron Eagle heads with a 64cc combustion chambers my engine was 550 hp and I could spin that thing up to 7500 rpm's no problem. My pistons were 13:1 with a dome also. Remember to do your homework (ask an engine builder on his input) you will have a real nice engine when its finished!!!!!
