Check the wiring for the tach. Is it the tach on the dash or an aftermarket one? Fix the problems to get the warning lights off...

There isn't a LT1 or LS1 style ABS. You either have traction control 4 channel (a sensor at each rear wheel) or non-traction control 3 channel with one sensor at the top of the center section.

I believe you are in big trouble. I know you can't put a 98+LS1 gauge cluster in a a 97LT1 Camaro or firebird because they are wired diff. or set up diff. for the new motor. You might possibly be able to swap in a whole 98+ camaro dash, and it might remedy the problem but its only a guess.

Re: 94 z with LS1

you would have to wire the whole car with a 1998 or newer ls1 harness.

Or you could check Painless wiring solutions. They have many harnesses prebuilt to adapt newer engines into older cars. They might have one for this application. The harness would interface between the cars wiring and the engine computer so that no guages would have to be changed. Now the fuel system is another story but it still can't be all that bad. Or, if everything else is working correctly, then you could just forget the stock gauge and get a nice autometer and put in it. The stock gauge is notoriously innacurate.

How bout posting up some pics too. I'd be interested to see how the front of the motor was done if the front end of the car wasn't switched over to late model as well...

Re: 94 z with LS1

something is different with the coil-per-cylinder design of the LS1 which has a different tach signal than the LT1.

i know you have to run most shift lights in "4cylinder mode" for them to run properly on an LS1.

that's most likely your problem.
