'93-'96 door locks...

My '95 has the key fob with keyless entry and it has been acting up. If you click the unlock button on the key once (to unlock driver door) it works fine. If you click it the second time to open the other door sometimes it doesn't work (no noise or anything like it's trying). Then other times, very randomly, it will work fine. Then just recently it has randomly started to not lock the doors. When you click the lock button it turns the lights on/off in the car(like it's locking them) but doesn't actually lock the door. If you get inside and do it you can hear the relay (maybe) clicking over near the passenger kick panel, but nothing happens. Then other times it works fine! I know the pickup is over behind the kick panel, but is there also a relay over there working the stuff? Anybody else had this problem and know what causes it?

Thanks a lot for the help,

Kyle

The Key Fob battery may be getting low.

I've changed them twice in the last year. This has still been happening. Also the fact that the lights are coming on and the click from the passenger kick panel shows me it's getting the signal, it's just not doing anything with it.

Any ideas? Anyone? Is there a relay that sends power to the locks that could be going bad or something??

Thanks for any help possible.

Not of any consolation, but mine has been doing the exact same thing lately. I have not come up a solution, but have not put much effort into finding one.

DAMN!!! The first thought that went through my head when I posted this was that Shoebox is going to have an answer for me!

My dad has ALLDATA software for his business. I think I'll give him a call tomorrow and have him look through the wiring diagrams for me to see if there's a relay or two tucked away down there that could be the cause of this intermittent problem.

I'll let you know if I find anything out.

Re: '93-'96 door locks...

Mine has done this since I have owned my car.
I have come to the conclusion that it is the little black box (forgot what it was called). I can reprogram, and it will work sometimes, and sometimes it won't.

I could be wrong, but that's my guess. I was gonna try the LS1 advance unlock, but the wiring didn't match up enough for me to start cutting, and what I tested with the multi-meter didn't have the right signals, so I didn't go too far into it.
