8.74 in the 1/8th 2.1 60'@82 mph?????

hey guys just curious but does that sound right? i didnt run it someone else said they did it just kinda sounded bs to me.

it was a guy in a 96 cobra said he ran an 8.74 in the 1/8 on street tires a 2.1 60' @82 mph "with the IMRC wigged out on the car"

oh by the way his car is stockjust sounded odd for a cobra to run like that

That time sounds believable to me.

Sounds to fast to me. My brother in law had a 96 Corba with catless x-pipe, flowmasters, intake and some other mods(sounded mean as **** btw). And the best he could pull off was a 9.2 at ??mph. This was in Iowa so maybe in a lower elevation he might be able to pull off a better et. I never got to race him before he sold it.

Re: 8.74 in the 1/8th 2.1 60'@82 mph?????

Seems a bit quick for a DOHC N/A stock cobra. That would translate into a 13.3 @ 104mph

When I had full bolt-ons I ran 8.699 (~8.7) @ 83.5mph w/2.1 60' which resulted in a 13.3 @ 105.8mph. I raced my buddy's cobra (97' with catback, CAI, timing adjuster and shifter) and he ran 14.0x @ 102 w/2.3 60'. It ended up being like 4-5 carlengths. He was modded and despite a bad 60' only trapped 102mph (81mph in the 1/8th).

Either your guy is bsing you or he can drive the hell out of a freak mustang. BTW, all my runs against my friend were at sea level @ NEw England Dragway. I have heard thta Evan Smith and some mustang guys have run mid 13's witha 96-98, but nobody has come close to a "13.0" stock. I dont think I have even seen them break into the 13's stock at my track to be honest. Doesnt mean it dosnt happen, but a 13.8-13.9 is alot slower than a 13.0.

They all say crap like that.

That car might be lucky to run 9.2's in the 1/8@78 mph.

et sounds about right. MPH seems a little high for a stock'96. but if he was spinning hard that may make his traps a little higher, as weird as that may sound.
