502 in a 4th Gen
502 in a 4th Gen
I have this extra 502/4L80e just sitting in my shop. My boss has a t-topped 4th gen without the engine/trans. So I was thinking...will it fit?
Got any good write-ups on this swap?
Yea, I searched

Yes, please. The more pics the merrier.
And gas prices be damned
Hell, turboBlue is only $1 more per galoon here. Guess I may run that stuff all the time.

As nice as that looks, how are you supposed to do anything such as adjust the timing when the engine is sitting under the dash?
Why stop at a 502? A 540 has the same external dimensions.

Yes, just like all the new trucks. At least with newer engines, they don't have a distributor at the back of the engines like the older models which means shoving the engine under the dash isn't a big issue. It's when you put an older design engine into a newer body that access and clearance become an issue.
If you have enough time and money, any kind of swap is possible.

I don't steal pictures from other people. If I use a photo that belongs to someone else, I acknowledge the source. I personally took that picture at SLP Customer Appreciation Day at Englishtown Raceway Park, probably around 2002.
