4th Gen Option Question

What is the deal with the Body colored Mirrors and panel between the T-Tops and rear hatch glass? I know some years are black, and some are body colored.

was this an option or something they changed in a specific year?

Thanks, any information greatly appreciated.

We'll assume you are asking specifically about the Camaro. Varies with years.

93 the top was body colored, except on Z28's and cars with T-tops. All 93's had black mirrors. Ditto in 94.

Starting in 95, they added RPO option D82, which got you body colored top and body colored mirrors on the Z28 and T-top cars.

It appears in 98, the D82 option disappeared, and they went back to the black top (but not the black mirrors) on Z28's.

That's all out of the "Camaro White Book". Its fairly reliable, but there are some errors.

I think it's a vert thing, as they weren't painting anything else black, so they painted the mirror "body color".

Also the headlight pockets on a Z28.

I ordered my car with this option. Figured the flattish black headlight inserts would look dumb on a black car.

Not true for 94 Z28 verts. Don't know about non-Zs. My Z vert has black mirrors. No other option was available.
