327 ingraved on lt-1 engine block why?

327 ingraved on lt-1 engine block why?

why is a 327 ingraved on the my LT-1 BLOCK i have alway's wonderd and i would like an answer .

I believe it is because that is the last three digits of the original LT1 block part number.

dam i thought mybe i had a 327ci motor,

i guess i'm just trying to find an excuse why my z28 is too slow

its all a hoax, the 93-97 f-bodies came with a 327 and 3 dueces, someone obviously swapped all our top ends at the dealer and tried to convince us otherwise. They just werent smart enough to grind off the casting number

Actually a 327 and a 350 both have a 4 inch bore. The stroke is different. On a 327 it's 3.25 and on the 350 it's 3.48.

No.

The LT1 block casting number is 10125327. It is unique to the Gen 2 SBC 350ci engine. It was never used for any other displacement. The only other Gen 2 SBC is the block used in the 265ci "baby LT1". It carries casting number 10168588, and has "4.3" cast into the side of the block.
