something is really wrong with my car>

At idel it feels fine, and I can rev it all the way to red line in Neutral.

In drive or under a load the engine doesnt sound right when I push the gas, it hesitates, and bucks, and sounds excessively loopy. I had to floor it just to get up a hill and it felt like it was going to die any minute.

I'm home, today is excessively hot, I had the AC on, but I turned it off when it started to have problems.

I think I might buy a fuel filter since this is the origional one and the car has 36,000 miles.

Any help would be greately appreciated!

I gave up, I could only reach the fuel filter by lifting the rear wheels really high up, but with a full tank of gas I cant stop the gas while I change the filter.

I need to get my trans fluid changed/ coolent or whatever else so I'm just going to pay somone wed to fix it.

Hopefuly it's back soon, this weather is too nice to be driving a Tahoe

Cant tell you why your ride is crappy. But to change the fuel filter in a 3800 you have to have 1/2 a tank or as little as you feel comfortable with. It will leak some fuel no matter what. I use a golf tee to plug up the line when I change mine.

First of all you shouldn't rev the motor to redline while in neutral. That's a good way to do some damage. About your fuel filter, just back the car up onto some Rhino Ramps and take it off. Yes, some fuel will come out, but it eventually stops. It's not just going to continue to run out unless you've wired your fuel pump to constantly be on!

It was impossible, I had the rear wheels up on ramps and I had so much gas in the tank that it wouldnt stop coming out.
So I sent the car out to my mechanic to do it, He called me just a little wile ago, aparently my #6 spark plug wire went out I'm confused and suprised since the car has such low miles.

Now I'm wondering if I should do the rest of the wires/plugs just so their all even

Milage has very little to do with wire and other components condition as much as age and heat do. A 98 V-6 you say. 6 years is 3 years to late.Change all 6 spark plug wires at the very least.

I was'nt going to wate till 100,000 like the manual says, but I was hoping to get to atleast 60-70K

I'll look into changing the rest, first I'd like to just get it back and drive it.
