I have a security light on and I can't figure out how to turn it off.

Moved to General Tech. You will have better luck getting an answer here, as the problem is not engine related.

Generally this has something to do with the VATS system, which is the little chip in the ignition key (and the part of the car that reads it). I'm afraid I won't be of much help personally, but if you search this forum for VATS, you'll probably find some helpful advice.

yep its a vats prob

Without a code reader that can access the bcm its impossible to know for shure, but usually it means that the BCM is not reading the correct or any frequency from the key
try usuing a eraser on the keys chip this sometime helps.

Don't over-rate the "chip" and assume it emits "frequency". It's a simple resistor pellet.
