Local theres a 97 z28 6spd 6 spd silver t tops optional rims 1 owner,

Are 97's best of the lt1-s??
Or is it better to put more money down and get an ls-1?????

For asterisk dollars? Great deal. How much is it?

LS1's have better power potential and are a newer engine, so it's higher technology.

I like 96's the best cause I don't like the interiors of the 97's and up. I also think the LT1 bodies look better, but I do agree that the LS1 is a much better package. If the price is right i say get it, but if it's just a little more to step up to a 98 LS1 that might be a better deal in the long run.

8k is LS1 pricing, if you know where to look.

Personally, I like the look of LT1 Camaros and LS1 TAs.

I wouldn't pay more than 7k for a NICE LT1.

But that's just me.

That's good advice.

I picked up my car with minor issues for 9k, and medium mileage. It's getting close to 100l miles now, and with the except of a crappy driver is still running strong. (I did get spanked by a C6 on the highway a few minutes ago.)

For a 97 Z with 53k miles, I wouldn't go any higher than 7250 for an immaculate manual. (stock)

If it's modded, you get into buyer/seller specifics. The car I bought had the mods I wanted, so I paid slightly more than book value.

I'd say look 4 an LS1 for that price.....they are, in my opinion a way stronger motor, i got a 2000 metallic navyz28 m6 with 40k miles for $9,500 ..immaculate condition...from original owner w/ a flowmaster catback & NEW 17x10aluminum corvette rallys & bfg force radials

I would say no more than $6500 or so for that if it's in great shape. Might as well look for an LS1 car at that point.

And depending on how you look at it, 97's aren't the best LT1s. I prefer OBD-1 MAF cars (94-95) for tuning purposes.

i actually checked this car out today! its in redwood city. some punk kid owns it. the car looks nice with the exception of a quarter sized chip above the left rear wheel, and a 6" long dent on the passenger quarter panel. the rear main seal is toasted and spews oil out all over the place. its going to need a clutch soon. the kid wouldnt take under 7500 for it, and swears it bluebooks at 9400( i almost died laughing when i heard that). oh yeah! i almost forgot, if youre going to go look at this car check out all the "cool" burnout marks on the driveway. the owner cant drive worth a ****. he tried pulling the car out and almost tagged my truck sideways.

I got a 97ss. Bluebooked it and it was $7500 dollar with 30k on odo. Got way more money in it now(383-D1). Maybe that car is worth $5500. You know you will put more money in it.
