1995 z28 runs bad during normal cruising but great during WOT and "high throttle"
Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums so bear with me if I miss anything.
I have a just about completely stock (only a 255lph fuel pump and flowmasters) 1995 z28 camaro that has been running grrat untill about a month ago. At first it had what sounded like a nasty back fire from the intake at WOT (like a kind of banging from the engine), and later on one of the tranny mount's bolt literally fell out. These problems where fixed with a new tranny mount, and I don't know what exactly fixed the banging but I replaced the ignition coil with an Accel ignition coil and the TBS(Had another problem where the car would sputter at a partial section of pressing the throttle, read on the fourms that it could've been the tbs) and it stopped making noises at WOT.
Now the current problem is that at lower rpms the car sometimes sputters, and when accelerating it the car goes then stops for a small amount of time then keeps going. The faster the car is moving the less it does this, about 75~mph (wich is about 2700-3000rpms) the car stops doing this problem. Now one thing that's odd is that this never happens when the peddle is at or almost to the floor. The car also picked up a harder "donking noise from exhaust". I left an attachment mp3 for what it sounds like. I also cleaned the MAF, and then later changed the fuel filter wich helped a bit wich leads me to believe it has somthing to do with the atf
Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated

Re: 1995 z28 runs bad during normal cruising but great during WOT and "high throttle"
Just to be sure we are all on the same page.....
You replaced the “TBS”. Do you mean TPS = throttle position sensor?
What do you mean by “....has something to do with the atf.”? Do you mean A/F = air/fuel ratio?
Have you checked the fuel pressure?
Does the SES light turn on?
The stumble on throttle tip-in can be caused by a tear in the rubber inlet elbow between the MAF and throttle body. Or the bottom edge of the elbow folded under and not being fully on the throttle body.
How old are the O2 sensors?
Are you sure the “banging” wasn’t just the trans hitting the floor because of the damaged trans mount?

Yes TPS, was thinking throttle body sensor :^)
Yes Air fuel ratio
Haven't checked fuel pressure yet, going to get the tool this Tuesday
O2 sensors where replaced by previous owner with Acdelco ones
The banging during WOT was fixed separately from the tranny mount and the Ignition coil and TPS. After the Tps and ignition coil it stopped banging.
I'm pretty sure the elbow is properly seated will check again tommorow.
I have no check engine lights or SES lights, oil pressure is good and the temperature stays just below middle while driving and middle while idling.
Thanks
