1995 Z28 LT1 "subframe" removal

Just bought a 1995 LT1/auto Z28 convertible as a driveline donor parts car for a 37 Chevy.

Seems that it might be cleaner to drop the subframe with engine and trans still attached? Obviously we need all of the wiring..and need the steering column.

Anyone have experience dropping a 95 era subframe, if so any obstacles that can be avoided?

I assume you mean drop the K-member that supports the engine and front suspension. More people seem to drop the engine out the bottom, rather than pull it out the top. The factory manual tells you to drop it out the bottom.

Several people have posted photos/directions on how they did it. Try a "search" for "engine out the bottom". Here's a link to one example on an outside site:
