What opti are you running?
I bought one of those opti's off ebay, even though they offered a lifetime warranty, when I saw it had a green top I sent it back. Wasn't worth my time to be changing opti's left and right with a rip off design.
anyone use the Jeg's brand opti's at all? What about the Accel Opti-Spark II's? I heard some people have had trouble with the Accel's but that might've been when they first came out with them, maybe they're better now? I'm running a Delteq system so the electrical part of the opti is no concern for right now, but wasn't sure if the Accel optics were maybe better than the Jegs? anyone want to throw in their 2 cents?

i have the jegs opti...car hasnt started yet though so dunno....cranks but no fire...should find out tomorrow and hopefully get it running....i went jegs because of the price...plus i have 2 oem optis if the jegs doesnt work
I have had 2 OEM opti's. The second one just went with about 2000 miles on it. Both were from the rivets leting go. I am woundering what I need to do about it. I just bought an MSD 6AL so I would like to stay with an opti. I am thinking hard on the MSD opti but I don't want to being tearing it down again anytime soon. I have also been thinking about putting alum rivets in the stock rotor that fell off. I wounder how that would do.
Hello mzgp5x! I have been having problems with my opti and would like to try your mods to it. I have my opti apart and have put the rivets in the rotor to take care of the rotor tang coming off. Another problem that I am haveing is water getting in the cap. Have you tryed anything to rid this? I am thinking of siliconeing the cap. I would appreciate your input. Thanks.
I find it hard to believe that no one can make an opti rotor that will last. I haven't had a problem with the optical sensor just the rotor. Out of all the companies that make opti's I would put my faith in MSD. The only thing with MSD is that they are so expensive. If they could drop the price by eliminating the timming adjustment, I wish they woul do it. It is easy enough to adjust the timing threw the PCM. Also the less moving parts in them, the better.
