transmission codes for a 94 camaro
transmission codes for a 94 camaro
My z28 was throwing codes 16 and 48. Well when I checked that the tech that helped me said transmission codes 22 and 72 came up. 22 is suppose to be throttle position sensor. Do I need to replace it or what? 72 is trans output speed sensor. Not sure how to tackle this one. Please help.
Re: transmission codes for a 94 camaro
None of those are "transmission" codes. They an affect the way the trans operates.
DTC 72 is for the VSS circuit. Although attached to the trans, its not any part of the trans. Does your speedo work? If the speedo is working, its a stored code. Did you do any work on the car lately that required you to unhook the VSS?
DTC 22 is the TPS. Check the TPS voltage, between the blue signal wire and the black ground wire. At closed throttle, the reading should be in the range of 0.20 - 0.90V. The code sets when the TPS voltage drops below 0.20V closed throttle.
Do you still have 36 and 48, or were they clear, and now you only have 22 and 72?
DTC 36 is a problem with the high resolution cam position signal from the Opti. Check both ends of the short Opti harness for corrosion or damaged pins.
DTC 48 is failure of the MAF sensor.
Use Shoebox's LT1 code list:

Note that there is a seperate tab at the bottom of the page for transmission codes, that shows how the above codes may affect transmission operation.
