stupid question about removing...

fuel rails. i know it seems so simple but im trying to work in less then adequate light and its only like 30 degrees out. i took out the 2 bolts on top of each rail and the fuel lines are disconnected. i know the rails are attacted to eachother in the back but is anything else holding them on? they wiggle around but i cant seem to pull them up. is just the injectors plugged into them holding it on? or is there anything i missed? thanks for any help.

Can't offer experienced help as I haven't done it but will ask some things based on Haynes manual.

Remove fuel lines. (done) This needs a special tool that can be had at most auto parts stores and Sears.

It then says to remove the injector electrical connectors, accelerator and cruise control cables, and anything else in the way.

The manual says after remove the retaining bolts and remove the fuel rails. On a different engine that I have I have removed the injectors, they were in pretty snug because of the seals. It required gentle but firm pulling to free the seals from their grip.

I don't know if this will help. Had to work under similar situation and know the frustration. Goood luck.

The injectors are o-ringed at the top and bottom so the fit is snug. Try using a small pry bar and alternate lifting each rail a small amount in both the front and back. They will pop off.

Good idea to take an air gun and blow the dirt off the intake around the fuel injectors before removing the fuel rail.

You should replace the o-rings everytime you remove the rails. There is an injector retaining clip if you want to remove any of the injectors from the rail. Use new engine oil to lube the new o-rings.

For everyone responding, keep in mind that the 93 rails and hard lines are significantly different than all the newer LT1's.
