Starter Problems

My wife went to drive her 94 Z28 LT1 this morning and she told me it wouldnt crank. I went out and checked it and when you turn the key it does nothing. No clicking or anything. I checked and the voltage guage was fine, i hooked up jumper cables just to make sure. Same thing. Now Im guessing that its the starter but wanted to ask the experts if there is anything i can or should check before replacing the starter such as relays or safety switches. And if it is the starter then is there any tricks or things i need to know before replacing it. The car is completely stock and ive never done any work on it myself. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Starter Problems

Try jumping the small terminal at the starter to the large one (the ones with cables attached) and see if it cranks. That will tell you if the starter will work and that something before it is not allowing engagement.
