OPTI Sustainment

I have 1996 Z28 with 383 Stroker and MSD Ingnition. My problem is that I eat OPTI SPARK Distributors. When I used the Delco is took about 200 to 350 mile to burn the contact in the distributor to point were they did not conduct/pass electricity. I went to MSD OPTI and I managed about 1000 mile before the OPTI spark failed. Why do is there so much current flowing through distributor and what can I do to fix or surconvent this problem?

Re: OPTI Sustainment

Are the contacts actually burning, or are they being damaged by the rotor being pushed into them by a cam dowel pin that's too long?

Do you have any kind of aftermarket ignition box, like an MSD?

What gap do you run on your spark plugs? What is the engine's dynamic compression ratio?
