no crank
no crank
i have a 97 z28 automatic all stock lt1. the other day i went to start my car for work and when i put the key in all my lights came on except for my odometer didnt light up. the security light comes on for about 5 seconds then shuts off which i think is normal and when i go to start the car nothing happens what so ever. the battery is good and i even go under it to cross over the starter and it will spin but never engage. i can here my fuel pump prime and everything. i have checked all my fuses and cables are tight. not sure if it could by my bcm, security of even my starter?
Re: no crank
There's no interface with the PCM for the starter circuits, only the BCM and theft deterent relay.

Re: no crank
I have the same issue. I have a 02 Z28. It is totally random but I can turn the key and sometimes it starts with no issue and other times it might take 2 or 50 turns of the key to get the car to start. Everything turns on correctly and the security light does not flash so it is not a bad key..which has been replaced. I can hear the fuse on the hood spark and the fuel pump hiss and turn on but no ignition. I have swapped out the ignition fuse under the hood. Acutally there is times that the car will not cranck no matter what I do, but do to a fit of rage one day I knoecked the plastic cover off of the small square ignition fuse and if I stick a metal opject in there the car will turn over one and start everytime. I have swapped that fuse about 5 times. I can usally get the car to start but turn the key to the start position rapidally for a few seconds and it will eventually start. It is annoying as crap.. I love it when it is raining or 100 flippn degrees outside. Any thoughts?????
