My battery relocation wiring diagram, and pics
Before I started this project, I did a search for a good diagram for all the battery wiring. I found a few clues, but none real easy to follow. I wanted to post this incase anyone else needed the information.
I ran my postive cable, and the alt. wires under the car, zip tied together. They tuck up nice on the inside of the rocker seam. The funny parts is, these 4th gens look like they were made for external battery cables. The rear wheel well has a void between the sheet metal that the cables fit in perfectly. I use a BMR battery box, in the spare tire well, Jegs 300 AMP. master cut-off switch with their push/pull rod, a Jegs relocation wire kit, and a "red top" Optima. I'll have actual pictures soon of the wiring, and the completed outcome.
I owe Brian (PROJECTZ28) alot of thanks for giving me a hand with the switch and wiring.

Looks good Frank... Like I said I think your switch came out much better than mine. I like it! I'm now jealouse...
I have my ground in the same spot and so far no problems.
Only think I see (hard to tell from the pic) is be carefull with that battery cable on the starter. Looks like its too close to the header pipes and you might start to melt the insulation on a long run. Again, hard to tell from the pic but it looks too close.

na mines 4ga to, I have a 200 amp alt on my car from a long time ago and I use to use 4ga wire from the battery to the rear for the amps so I had 2 30 ft pieces laying around yet just had to get to it and put it in the car, Im hoping I dont have starter problems LOL I have 2ga wire running to the starter, it came in a kit from summit.
BTW: I kinda stole your pic LOL, I put it up on my page I just made up

i dont understand why you cant simple make the switch cut off the ground from the battery to the frame...it would save you haveing to run the alternator wire back there...you would only have to run 1 wire up to the front for power...it would save weight too

I have a seperate wire hooked up all the time to power that runs stuff like my radio memory and I have a power block under the dash that i can hook anything up to that I want like my 110 converter that I run my laptop off of even with the MDS pushed off, I have to many friends that like to push in my cut off all the time, and Im not resetting the clock all the time, so if you would cut the ground you would have to run ground wires to stuff like that and re wire everything. all you need to be legal is have it shut off the engine ignition and fuel.
