Question melted fuel pump wiring...what to do? PICS

Alright long story short I got a real good deal on a 94 z28 which apparently had a busted fuel pump.
I checked the fuse/relay/wires getting power back to the pump, but the pump itself is dead. I haven't jumpered it to the plug by the computer up front, but I doubt it would've ever kicked on anyways because we traced the wires all the way back.
So I replaced the pump/fuse/relay/filter as a preventative method, put it all back together and still that pump will not turn on...never primes.

Just an FYI I did get the car started very briefly by using some starting fluid so I am 100% positive its a fuel issue.

I take the fuel pump back out and we decide to check the voltage that is getting directly to the pump itself to make sure its getting power to the pump. Checking that we found that the wiring that is contained inside the pump itself is fairly melted. I replaced a stock fuel pump w/ 121K on it for an OEM from autozone (giftcard otherwise I would've gotton Racetronix FTW )

This is what the plug looks like:

This is the other plug connecting to the metal top lid holding the pump in the tank: It looks a bit corroded but not melted like the other.

And where is the dreaded ground that everyone talks about giving them fits? Is this it:

I just thought this was the ground for the float on the fuel pump gauge.

Cliffnotes I have a burned up plug going into my fuel pump. How would I go about finding a replacement set of wires or will I have to make my own? Anyone have a junk fbody w/a set of these wires?
Thanks
ps shoebox you have mail

Yeah, I saw your email. I don't have any advice, unless Racetronix has something that can fix you up. Otherwise, a salvage yard may be an option.
