LTCC vs Delteq... which one?

Question LTCC vs Delteq... which one?

OK guys trying to get some feedback on this here. I am getting real close to completion on my 4 year long build of this 94 B4c mm6 car. I am gonna go with a different ignition setup and am trying to decide between the Delteq and the LTCC (LT1 to LS1 coil conversion). Both are supposed to remove the high voltage from the opti, to increase lifespan and reliability. The obvious difference is that the LTCC uses 8 LS1 coils and the Delteq uses 4 coils (each fire 2 cylinders). I can afford either method, but want input as to the pros and cons of one vs the other. ive heard the delteqs are supposed to be better, but i have not had experience with either, so hope you find what your looking for
i dont think u can go wrong with either one

I've got the Delteq system and the only way to retard timing with it is to use the very expensive MSD DIS-4 box. With all the right parts it will run me around $600. Wich is what the Delteq runs ruffly. Or you can go with the Motec system wich engineer has and you can get software that will handle all of that with the system. The upfront money is a little more for the motec but if you plan on going with N2O or boost you will need some sort of retard control. I will probably wind up using Tunercat to have two different programs but it will take time to tweek and may not be as accurate as an external box or motec system. We shall see though. If I had it to do over I'd get the Motec system with the 8 LS1 type coils.

I run the LTCC and have had good luck with it. I includes studder type rev limiter, and an integrated 2 step or boost retard (switch selectable). I use the 2 step and had Bob recalibrate it so the 2 step range is 4000 to 6000. Mounting the coils can be a challange. I tack welded mounting pads to my stock valve covers and used truck coils. Needed to extend a few wires and put truck coil connectors on all ends.I endend up with a clean install except that I have to unbolt 2 coils for access to oil fill cap on passanger valve cover. This takes about 30 seconds during an oil change so it's no biggie in my book. Only other down side is if the battery voltage goes very low (to the point you'll need a jump start) the electronics can flake out till the battery comes up.

I've got Delteq systems on both cars and love it. Both systems do the same thing very well. I like the Delteq better because it looks cleaner than the LTCC system. But it your running boost or juice, the LTCC is probably a better choice because it will be easier/cheaper to retard timming.

your choice. You can't go wrong with either one.

you can also retard the timing on the delteq w/ a crane trc-1. which is only $125

Oops. Just reread my post. It's not boost retard. It's nitrous retard. The LTCC box is not boost referenced. I guess I'm the retard

If you can find one, as they have been out of production for quite some time... Unless you know someone who has a few in stock?
