Ignition timing

I have a 1991 camaro rs 3.1 engine. The timing has jumped for the second time. When trying to reset it when it get on the mark it bogs down. It will not run unless its about an inch from the mark. Any suggestions.

Timing jumped? Like your chain has too much slack? Replace the timing chain should keep it from jumping. Didn't those cars have HEI distributors? make sure the gear isn't torn up or the input shaft isn't bent.
