I need some help figuring out some problems with my 89 iroc with a 305 tpi first off it won't start with out the help of starting fluid when it does start it idles smooth but very high and when you try to throttle it it hesitates. The car sat for ten years in a garage it has fairly low miles but the previous owner tried to get it up and running all i know is that he cleaned the tank and fuel lines of rust when that did not help he started changing sensors I am unsure of what he done to the car but it did not work any info on where I coud start diagnosing my prblems would be greatly appreciated.

 

i would start by looking for vacuum leaks.
