How to check fuel pump check valve. ? FP issue.
How to check fuel pump check valve. ? FP issue.
Racetronix Walboro pump kit. Worked fine, but car sat for a year and a half and this started. FP at prime (or with the pump running with the connector by the PCM) is 55 psi. Stop the pump and the pressure bleeds to 0 within 10 seconds.
Changed the FPR to an Accel unit. Pulled the rail and no leaks. Bypassed the return line to check for kinks. Nothing works.
What is this bypass in the fuel pump thing? Can somebody direct me on how to check this? That sounds like the ONLY thing left.
Thoughts?
(BTW, check out this post, sounds like the same thing: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showp...33&postcount=6)

Yes.
Racetronix pump. Primes to 55 PSI. I can run the pump at 55 PSI with the connector by the PCM. Take away power FP drops to 0 within seconds.
Took the rail off. Injectors do not leak.
Took off return line for suspected kinks on the way back to the tank. Same scenario.
Replaced FPR with Accel ADFPR same situation.
Gas cap holding pressure. (but it is old).

Sure is does. The check valve needs to stay closed to hold the pressure in the lines when the pump shuts down. The FPR hold the return line closed, hopefully there are no leaking injectors, and the check vlave is closing off the supply line.
Wierd. MY car will loose fuel pressure within 20-30 sec after turning the key off and I have had no problems starting the car ever.
