Help making a fuel pump fit.

OK I need a new fuel pump so I got one from here.
http://treperformance.com/c-177-255-lph-fuel-pumps.html
I'm trying to install it on my 1997 Camaro Z28 and I have no idea how.
I opened up the basket and took out the old pump on the bottom of the old pump there was a grommet that went around the pump's pick up do I need to use that on the new pump?
Also the pick up is much bigger on the new pump than the stock one.
The sock they gave me is wrong it fits the pump and not the basket.
I have called them up to get some help but all I get are teenagers that have know idea what to tell me.
If you look here on the stock pump on the right is the grommet I'm talking about.

Do I need to have that on there?
I hope somebody can help me short this out I need to get my car running.
Thanks,

If it won't fit in the bucket, you can install it without the bucket using a hose clamp to secure it to the bracket that the bucket was on. It isn't as foolproof for when you are low on fuel, but it will work well otherwise. Just dont get low on fuel and take a bunch of hard curves or something. Otherwise you need a Walbro that fits in place of the oem pump.
