Having starting problems

My car has been in a shop getting fixed for about a year. Just got it back the other day and they said I need a tune up and prob spark plug change. Well I fired it up and it is running rough. There is not much acceleration at all. The next day I fire it up and Its having problems starting. Im actually having to lay on the starter while pumping the gas pedal. Could it just be the spark plugs or does it look like theres more problems with my car? I put fresh gas, gas treatment and oil treament too. I seems to be running ok when its at an idle, but drives rough. ALso, I noticed, everytime I rev it up to 3000rpm, it will back fire when I let off. Im getting my plugs changed soon, I just wonder if thats the only thing that could be wrong.

had the same problem man, it was due to a CLOGGED cat. convt. ...slice it off in front of it, and run it around the block once....accelerating to see any improvement besides a loud open pipe camaro....if it isnt jus weld it back into place ,,,,i found out the hard way and paid 821.00 for an aftermarket one
