??? gas tank?

Okay so Im going down the road enjoying the awesomeness that is my car (signature). Of course the gas guage doesnt work. Anywho, car turns off going over an overpass... just dies out. Anyway real nice you know, dead on the side of the road face

So anyway turned out to be just ran out of gas no biggie. Went to go fill up the gas tank...with something like 8 gallons of gas Okay well the thing i used to fill it up would have been lucky to have 2 gallons to give to the car, when I poured on road side.

So my question did the previous owner put a smaller tank in it?? Any pictures of a factory tank available?? Any chance the fuel pump just isnt picking up fuel after the tank reaches a certain level?

Thank you everyone!

It is possible if you get below a 1/4 tank and go up an incline, the pump will starve for fuel...

Since the guage is not working, I would fill he vehicle up, set the trip meter to 0 and watch the mileage... When you reach 200, fill up and reset...

The tank is around 15 gallons...

Unlikely but possible.

Here is a guide to the trap door mod you can get an idea where the tank is located and what the fuel pump looks like.

Possibly.... maybe if the pump sock fell off or something came loose...

The F body tank is kind of triangle shaped... the fuel level diminishes exponentially... meaning once you get below full the gauge would go down faster and faster.

Thanks bro, so it is a possibility my fuel pump could have just not been able to muscle out the gas?

Ok good Ive been thinking to buy the sender and pump and do that trap door. My fuel pump reads slightly off (pressure test) and looses pressure so hopefully between the two it will fix the problem. Thanks for the reply and the link!
